Bathrooms, Kitchens & Laundries The Flow 500 Classic isn't limited to bathrooms. Its multiple greywater connections make it suitable for a wide variety of normal domestic wastewater applications, including kitchen sinks, washing machines and dishwashers. For kitchen use, always fit a suitable sink strainer and prevent food scraps, cooking fats, oils and grease from entering the pump. A macerator pump is not a food waste disposal system. Food waste disposal units should not be connected unless an appropriate filtration system prevents solid material from entering the macerator. Important Installation Points Correct installation is essential for reliable operation. Greywater pipework should have approximately a 2% fall toward the pump Showers generally require around 150mm clearance to achieve sufficient gravity fall Allow a minimum 200mm between the toilet and rear wall for the Flow 500 Classic installation Install the supplied non-return valve directly at the pump discharge Complete vertical discharge pipework before long horizontal runs Use sweeping bends or 2 x 45° bends rather than tight 90° bends where practical Keep the pump accessible for future servicing Ensure all unused inlets are correctly sealed We strongly recommend installation by a qualified plumber or appropriate trade professional. Every 3–4 months Run a suitable Sugar Soap cleaning solution through the pump, allow it time to work, then flush thoroughly with warm water. This helps reduce soap, waste and residue build-up inside the pump and pipework. Never put through a macerator: Wet wipes — including “flushable” wipes Tampons or sanitary products Nappies Paper towels Rags or cloth Cotton buds Food scraps Cooking fats Oils or grease Excessive hair Foreign objects Boiling water Strong acids Aggressive drain-cleaning chemicals Human waste, toilet paper and normal household wastewater only. 24-Month GreenLeaf Warranty Every GreenLeaf Flow 500 Classic comes with a 24-month return-to-base warranty for residential use. The warranty covers manufacturing faults under normal use when the pump has been correctly installed and operated.
